Date: June 6, 2013 88-Generation Conference Convening Committee (Canada) A Convening Committee was formed in a meeting in Toronto on May 19, 2013, to hold an historic 88-Generation Conference in exile from June 28 to 30, 2013. The Committee adopted a broad-based policy that would embrace all 88-Generation to the Conference. In prior, several meetings and consultations were made between the Canadian Friends of Burma (CFOB) and Burmese Students' Democratic Organization (BSDO-Canada), and later broadened the scope and scale of the conference by inviting individuals in the formation of this Committee. Three conference objectives, known as '3Rs', were also adopted in the meetings. They are • a reunion of 88-Generation members within Canada as well as from abroad, • a reflection on a 25-year struggle for democracy in Burma and • resolutions - based upon common ground - towards Burma.
