Many of them are now abroad - in exile such as in Canada, U.S, Australia and Europe. Conference Goals: It is the longstanding desire of 88-Generation abroad to come together to review their long struggle that they have steadfastly committed, contributed and paved the way for since 25 years ago. The conference is also meant to be an avenue to brainstorm different ideas, means and way to continuously supporting the genuine democratic reform process that they envisaged 25 years ago. Conference Convening Committee: Conference Convening Committee was set up on May 19, 2013 with four dozens of 88-generation members, in coordination with Canadian Friends of Burma (CFOB) and Burmese Students Democratic Organization (BSDO).( www.bsdo.ca ) It is a great opportunity for Canada to host this conference on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Burmese democracy movement, especially having a chance to highlight the endeavor of 88-Generation in the past 25 years. ------------- The Canadian Friends of Burma (CFOB) is federally incorporated, national non-governmental organization working for democracy and human rights in Burma.
